This article is about Suna Light, who takes on the superhero name Zero in the Mega Man: Fully Charged comic book series. For others named Zero, see Zero (disambiguation).
"When nothing is absolute, zero is everything. But for now...you can still call me “big sis”."
―Suna reveals herself to be Zero to Mega Man, Issue 3, Mega Man: Fully Charged (BOOM! Studios)

Suna Light is the tritagonist of Mega Man: Fully Charged. The human daughter of Dr. Light and elder sister of the robot Aki Light, Suna is Mega Man's confidant and partner who often assists him in fighting crime while helping keep the secret that Aki is Mega Man from Dr. Light. Throughout the animated series, Suna aids Mega Man and Dr. Light in their fight against Lord Obsidian and the Robot Masters with her gadgets. In the comic book series, she dons combat armor and directly aids Mega Man in his fight against Skull Man, taking on the superhero name Zero.

Overview[]

Suna's role as the sister of Aki mirrors the relationship Roll has with the original Mega Man. Like Roll Caskett, she possesses the aptitude for technology and uses a variety of gadgets and weapons to aid Mega Man, and created the armor to become Zero. As Zero, her design bears similarities to her video game counterpart, however her armor is red and white rather than red and black, her face is covered with a visor, and her beam sabers come out of their wrists rather than being a separate saber. She also lacks Zero's long blond hair and green chest crystals.

Suna is an adventurous spirit. Her father taught her that anything is possible, so she has grown up to be an optimist with the eye of a scientist. She is smart, fun-loving, and not afraid to get her hands dirty. Suna often plays the realist to Aki's unbridled optimism, but she is not cynical. She is bright, intelligent, and confident, but above all very human. She has a high tolerance for nonsense, but when danger threatens her friends and family, she is fiercely protective.[1]

Trivia[]

  • The name "Suna Light" might be a play on sunlight, with "suna" being the Esperanto word for "solar".
  • In Flower Power, Suna’s pink blush is gone for an unknown reason
  • Suna has a poster on her wall of a girl in a red dress with long blonde hair tied into a ponytail, resembling Roll. She appears to possibly be a local rock star, as posters of the Roll-esque girl are also seen on walls in alleys throughout Silicon City.
