redips always was spider?[]
just a theory, but isnt it possible that redips already was spider from the beginning? i say this because the new generation reploids in x8 already had sigma's dna from the moment they were created, and if redips were created as a new generation reploid in the first place, he could have had a synthesized dna strand put into his copy chip, if indeed synthesizing dna without building an extra reploid is possible. if synthesizing dna is not possible, he could have had a duplicate dna strand of whoever the real spider was before the game started anyhow, just as the new generation reploids had a duplicate of sigma's.
all in all, i think its very possible that redips was always the same reploid as the spider shown throughout any point in the game at the very least...

It's pretty obvious Redips was Spider the entire time. I don't know why this page has a long, exhaustive detour about exactly what point in the game Redips may have decided to sneak in and replace the "real" Spider. Every time you met "Spider" in this game, it was Redips. There's really no reason he wouldn't be, or to suspect that he wasn't, beyond "well, it's technically possible".
If you really want to read that far into it (which tends to be like scuba diving in a puddle, when it comes to this franchise), there's Marino's side note about Spider having some remote connection to copy capability research in the past. They wouldn't have given us that info if it didn't mean something, so clearly, it's meant to give us some indication of how and why Redips has that form. If there was ever a "real" Spider, he was someone who died before the events of the game, and Redips just impersonates him to manipulate the odds more directly without giving himself away. This isn't Metal Gear, guys.

- Though I am not very familiar with Command Mission’s story, I’m afraid you can’t just come in and proclaim that it was “obvious” he was Redpids the entire time without proper proof, as there are hints that the real Spider was around at one point. In particular, iirc, in the beginning after meeting Spider the first time he disappears for a bit and reappears before joining you. Or a few other times. This franchise as a whole has many mysteries surrounding it and most of them are unanswered. Just because we assume that it happened in a certain way because of hints or deduction does not mean it did. For instance, we still don’t know what happened between the Classic and X series. We can only speculate because there isn’t a single hint as to what transpired. TornadoMan.EXE (talk) 04:56, December 21, 2019 (UTC)
