Wily's fate.[]
Okay, someone added in that Wily's fate in the Japanese version was that he refused to let go of his hatred, and that he died in the explosion. Can someone source it? Weedle McHairybug 19:03, February 18, 2012 (UTC)

“Lord” Wily[]
This has been driving me crazy for a while. Why is this page called “Lord Wily”? Sure, he was called that a few times within the entire game series by his subordinates, but he was almost always called “Dr. Wily”. Maybe “Lord Wily” should be a redirect but this page should be called “Dr. Wily (MegaMan Battle Network)”. TornadoMan.EXE (talk) 03:49, October 10, 2019 (UTC)
- Why not? In MMBN1-3 he was only called "Wily" or "Lord Wily" (and old man, but he prefers Lord Wily), so Lord Wily was used because it was more common early on and shorter than "Dr. Wily (Mega Man Battle Network)". But later he was called "Dr. Wily" in MMBN5-6, and it's also how he is named in MMBN Official Complete Works. --Quick (u•t) 13:50, October 10, 2019 (UTC)
- After scrubbing through sone Let’s Plays I can see thats true, I guess it just always registered as Dr. Wily in my head. - I did a deep dive on the Wily name.
In the English games, his peons usually call him Lord Wily, but the rest of the characters even side ones just call him Wily. In the 2 instances in BN5 (Past Vision and Regal) where was called Dr. Wily in English, he was called "Wairi Hakase" and "Wily" in JP respectively. For BN6, he's called with all sorts of honorifics, but the localizers seem to over simplify it for some reason. Every single character in the English game call him Dr. Wily, whether they follow him or not.
In the Japanese side, he was never called "Dokuta Wairi", only as "Wairi Hakase" by his peers. Multiple guidebook scans also show he's just "Wily" in Japan. The "Dr." abbreviation seems to be added in the Japanese Official Complete Works.
Personally, I'd go for just "Wily" or "Dr. Wily" since that's just what the OCW did.MidniteW (talk) 04:07, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
