Manabe is troubled by the phenomenon that she keeps gaining weight no matter how much she diets. The culprits are brothers Mac and Harry, internet criminals who resent being forced to live on the run after being pursued by Manabe. They use the power of Asteroid Gravityman to manipulate the weighing scale on which Manabe stands. They attempt to weaken her by dieting too much with their sneaky counterattack, but the two are taken aback by Manabe, who can withstand any harsh diet. At that time, Netto and Rockman are assigned to the task of checking for viruses on a deep-sea research submarine.[1]

Summary[]

Mac and Harry watch the news, Mac angrily complaining about being on the run from the police. Harry, more concerned about eating, ignores Mac’s angry ramblings. The two are confronted by Slur, who gives the brothers Asteroid Gravityman.

Meiru, Netto, and Chisao are relaxing at a high end swimming pool when they hear a scream. Running towards the noise, they find Manabe to be the source. Manabe, who had been weighing herself on a scale, was embarrassed to tell Netto and co why she had screamed, but it turns out the scale had told her her weight was twice the amount of a sumo wrestler. When Meiru steps on the scale and confirms it’s not broken, Manabe tries again but unfortunately gets a similar result. Mac and Harry watch from the bushes outside the building. Although it may be mean, Mac believes it’s necessary to get Manabe off their trail. As it turns out, previously, when trying to rob an apartment, the police were approaching rapidly. Harry had thrown the targeted computer out the window and Mac wasn’t able to catch it, and it was destroyed. The two fled without it, leaving a hard drive that Manabe believed would identify them.

Mac and Harry continue to watch Manabe from outside her apartment. Mac explains to Harry that if they can’t get rid of her she’ll restore the data on the hard drive and identify them. In her apartment, Manabe talks about her lack of dinner and how she’s getting hungry. Despite not eating, her weight is only increasing, so Manabe commits to working out more to decrease her weight. However, no matter how much she worked out, her weight problem continued, now extending to more issues such as elevators and escalators not moving when she attempts to use them and her office chair breaking when she attempts to sit on it. Manabe vents about it to Netto and co at Higura, showing off all her weight loss methods that haven’t been working. After weighing herself again, the weight on the scale shows an even bigger number. Rockman suggests taking a look at the scale as he believes something must be wrong, so Netto plugs him in. Mac and Harry, who were watching from outside and listening in through a fake bug inside the store, plug out Gravityman, as he was manipulating the scale’s system. Gravityman is plugged out just in time for Rockman to not see him.

Mac listens in to Manabe’s apartment from their hideout, shocked at Manabe’s strength and resilience to her current dieting. Mac, frustrated that Manabe hasn’t collapsed yet, decides to come up with another plan. Later, he listens in to a conversation Manabe and Netto are having at a restaurant. Manabe, struggling to watch Netto eat his insanely large meal, informs Netto of a new mission. The Ministry of Science wants him to go on a new submarine and make sure no viruses emerge. Mac uses this to come up with a perfect plan.

Manabe and Netto board the submarine as it sets sail. Mac and Harry, who have snuck on  disguising as fellow steersmen, use Gravityman to start sinking the ship. Manabe believes it’s because she’s onboard, stepping on her scale and discovering she’s gained even more weight. Manabe collapses out of shock, but when Meijin catches her Rockman and Netto realize that if Manabe really was that heavy Meijin wouldn’t be able to hold her. Netto plugs Rockman into the main computer to find the real cause. Rockman stumbles upon Gravityman, who changes the ship’s gravity and causes it to fly into the sky. It almost hits a plane that just so happens to have Raika onboard. While Gravityman fights Rockman he tells Mac and Harry to use a dimensional chip to protect their plan. Mac slots it in, but regrets it when Gravityman begins attacking the ship which puts them in danger too.

Meijin calls for a dimensional area that surrounds the ship in the air. Netto cross fuses and fights Gravityman, Manabe assisting as she realizes that he was the real manipulator of her weight. With Manabe’s assistance Netto is able to get Gravityman to return to the ship’s cyber world. Before Rockman can follow, Colonel appears and deletes Gravityman. Rockman makes it just in time to see Colonel leaving. The ship crashes back into the ocean and Mac and Harry come clean, apologizing for their actions. They’re tied up and Manabe scolds them as they’re brought back to land to be arrested.

Afterwards Manabe goes out to eat with Netto, Meiru, Shuuko, and Raika(who decided to tag along seemingly uninvited) where she eats an insanely large portion of food, revealing that her doctor said no matter how much she ate she’d never gain weight. Netto turns his attention to Raika, asking why he’s here but all he says is it’s a secret mission.
