Thinking Rabbit Inc. (有限会社シンキングラビット), was a Japanese video game developer founded in 1982 and active until 1990. They mainly created Sokoban puzzle games, plus some mystery adventure games. Capcom used their services for the development of Mega Man II for the Game Boy.[Citation needed] As the game was poorly received, Capcom never hired them again, instead having Minakuchi Engineering develop all the other Mega Man games for that system.
Trivia[]
- Japan System House (later known as Biox) were for many years thought to have been the developers of Mega Man II, due to its composer, Kenji Yamazaki having credited them as such on his website. However, the actual developers have since been identified as Thinking Rabbit. This misunderstanding came about because both developers outsourced their Game Boy audio production to a freelance programmer named Hiroto Nakamura, who in turn hired Yamazaki to write the soundtracks; because Yamazaki never dealt directly with either JSH or Thinking Rabbit, he simply misidentified who the client was.
