A Trans Server in Mega Man Zero.
- "Let me explain. A Trans Server basically moves something to someplace. It can transfer you to wherever you have been."
- —Resistance soldier
Transerver,[1] also known as Trans Server[2] (トランスサーバー Toransu Sābā), is a device from the first Mega Man Zero game and the Mega Man ZX series that can be used by the player to teleport to other locations known by the user. Transervers are scattered throughout several locations,[3] allowing the user to move from one area to another faster.
In Mega Man Zero, Trans Servers can also be used to manage Cyber-elves.
In the Mega Man ZX series, accessing a transerver automatically recovers Life Energy, and they can also be used to save game data and manage Missions.
Appearances[]
Mega Man Zero[]
Trans Servers are a retro wired transfer system found in different locations. After Area X's destruction, the Resistance became able to use satellites for precise wireless transfers like Neo Arcadia, no longer needing to rely on Trans Servers in the following games.[4]
There are eight Trans Servers in the game. The first three and the one in Neo Arcadia Shrine are unlocked during the story, while the others are optional and become available by accessing them once.
| Trans Server location | Details |
|---|---|
| Underground Laboratory | Accessed after Golem's defeat to reach the Resistance Base. |
| Resistance Base | Zero first enters the base from here. |
| Disposal Center | Accessed after Aztec Falcon's defeat. |
| Desert | Inside the building in front of the desert's entrance. |
| Subway | In a door between Subway Ruins and Abandoned Factory. |
| Neo Arcadia Shrine | Available after defeating Hanumachine. Cyber-elf X cracked the security system from Neo Arcadia's Trans Server to allow Zero to invade Neo Arcadia and stop Copy X.[5] |
| Neo Arcadia Tower | In the door between Neo Arcadia Shrine and Neo Arcadia Tower. |
| Neo Arcadia Core | In the door between Neo Arcadia Tower and Neo Arcadia Core. |
If the player fails the mission Stop the Hacking, Ciel informs that some functions from the Resistance's Trans Server will be unavailable for some time, but the transport and Cyber-elf functions available for the player are not affected by this.[6]
Mega Man ZX[]
There are two types of transervers in Mega Man ZX, a red one only used for communications (save and load data, start and conclude missions), and a yellow tube shaped transerver that is also able to teleport the player to other yellow transervers.
| Transerver location | Type and notes |
|---|---|
| Area A-2 | Yellow. In the middle of the area. |
| Area B-2 | Yellow. Between Areas B-2 and C-1. |
| Area C-2 | Both. A red transerver is in a building between the game center and the fountain, and a yellow transerver is hidden below the fountain. To access the yellow transerver, the player must disable the fountain by using its controls on the top left, which can be reached by either using Model HX's Air Dash or freezing the water with Model LX to create an ice platform. It is recommended to leave the fountain off, as reactivating it will impede the player from using the transerver as a shortcut. |
| Area C-3 | Red. Inside the building in the middle. |
| Area D-2 | Yellow. Between Areas D-2 and D-3. |
| Area E-7 | Yellow. After the boss, between Areas E-7 and I-1. |
| Area F-5 | Yellow. After the boss, in the end of the area. |
| Area G-5 | Yellow. After the boss, in the end of the area. |
| Area H-4 | Red. After the boss. |
| Area I-3 | Yellow. After the boss. |
| Area J-1 | Red. Inside the door in the top right. |
| Area K-4 | Yellow. After the boss, in the end of the area. |
| Area L-4 | Yellow. After the boss, in the end of the area. |
| Area M-3 | Yellow. After the boss, between Areas M-3 and N-1. |
| Area O-2 | Yellow. Inside a door before the mid-boss. |
| Area X-1 | Yellow. Can only be accessed from yellow transervers. |
Mega Man ZX Advent[]
In Mega Man ZX Advent, all transervers are able to teleport, but instead of teleporting between transervers, they can only send Grey or Ashe to an active Warp Point.
The game has 16 transerver, with 14 standard ones being found in Hunter's Camp 1, Arctic Ice Floe 4, Tower of Verdure 1, Oil Field 3, Legion HQ 3 and 4, Control Center 4, Highway 4, Floating Ruins 4, Scrapyard 4, Quarry 4, Waterfall Ruins 4, Mysterious Lab 4, Bio Lab 3. Like Mega Man ZX, most are located in the end of an area and are used to report the completion of the area's mission, with a few exceptions. Legion HQ has two transervers, the one in Legion HQ 4 being the only one optional in the game, requiring Bifrost to be accessed.
The remaining two transervers can only send the player to specific locations. The transever in Tower of Verdure 4 sends the player back to Tower of Verdure 1. Bio Lab 3 has two transervers in adjacent rooms, with one of them only being able to send the player to Undersea Volcano 1 after defeating Bifrost, Hedgeshock, Argoyle and Ugoyle,[7] and becomes unusable after completing Undersea Volcano's mission.
The transerver in the Hunter's Guild can also be used to reissue a Hunter's License.
While Train does not have a transerver, Rudy in Train 3 has a simple transport device that only has enough power to send the player back to Hunter's Camp 1, each use costing 50 EC.
Warp Points[]
Warp Point (ワープポイント Wāpu Pointo) is a device found around Mega Man ZX Advent that is used as the transportation point from transervers. From the 64 areas in the game, 45 have a Warp Point in the beginning, the exceptions being Mysterious Lab 1-2, Raider Pursuit, Hunter's Camp 2-4, Train 2, Legion HQ 3, Quarry 2-4, Undersea Volcano 1-4, and Ouroboros 1-4. Most can be seen as soon as the player enters the area, except that the Warp Point from Tower of Verdure 3 is only found by allowing Spidrill to reach the bottom of its room.
The Warp Point in Hunter's Camp 1 is enabled when Warp Points are introduced, and the Warp Points in Control Center 1, Highway 1, Floating Ruins 1 and Scrapyard 1 are enabled when their Missions are accepted. All other 40 Warp Points are optional, and must be enabled to be used. Each Warp Point activation costs 100 EC on Normal Mode and 500 EC on Expert Mode. On Beginner Mode they are automatically activated when touched. Activating all Warp Points requires a total of 4.000 EC on Normal and 20.000 EC on Expert, being up to the player to decide how to use them.
