Verner Von Bluecher,[3] known (roughly) as "Werner von Muller" (ウェルナー・フォン・ミュラー) in Japan, is a character from Mega Man Legends 2, a successful business man who raised enough money to build a massive airship, the Sulphur-Bottom, for the exploration of Forbidden Island. He is an old friend of Barrell Caskett and dreams of finding the Mother Lode, which he believes to be of great importance to mankind, although he is not sure of what it is, thinking that it could be an energy source more powerful than the Refractors.

History[]

When he was younger, Bluecher was always fascinated about the legend of the two goddesses in Calinca, and dreamed of finding the Mother Lode. During his search he went on an expedition to Forbidden Island alongside Barrell. Their expedition did not go as they had planned, losing their transport and having to do their best to survive against the rough weather and Reaverbots, managing to reach the eye of the storm before passing out. While they were unconscious, Yuna took them out of the island, and they became well known for returning from the island.

Believing that the Mother Lode could be on Forbidden Island, Bluecher started a successful business to raise money to explore the island again, using all his fortune to build the Sulphur-Bottom. After its completion, he asked Barrell to join him, and he held a press conference before the expedition. During the conference, Yuna (in Matilda Caskett's body) warned them that the Mother Lode is not a treasure, but a catastrophe waiting to happen, and leaves. Ignoring her warning, Bluecher proceeds, and the Sulphur-Bottom is accidentally damaged by Gaatz while trying to stop its advance, leaving the ship stuck on the storm.

While trying to find the Sulphur-Bottom, MegaMan Volnutt released Sera and Geetz from their seal, and the storm on the island stopped. As Barrell was a bit dizzy due to the constant spinning on the storm, Bluecher jokes that Barrell is getting old as he was fine. MegaMan, Roll, Sera, and Geetz are taken aboard the airship, and Bluecher and Barrell talk with the two ancients found in the island. To convince the Sulphur-Bottom crew to assist them, Sera pretends to be ill, and Geetz informs that they need four keys to unlock what they call the Mother Lode to save her, and as a reward they would gain access to lost technology, including how to make Refractors. Their conversation is heard by the Air Pirate Alliance, making it a race to see who will take the keys first. As MegaMan was successful on Forbidden Island, Bluecher and Barrell explain the situation to MegaMan and ask him to help retrieve the four keys to the Mother Lode before the pirates, with Bluecher keeping the keys safe inside the Sulphur-Bottom. Barrell and Bluecher stay on the airship to plan their moves, and provide additional information to MegaMan when requested.

After MegaMan takes the last key to the Sulphur-Bottom, Geetz assimilates the ship and Sera leaves with the keys to Elysium. After Geetz's defeat, the crew learns the truth behind the keys. MegaMan leaves with Yuna and Gaatz to stop Sera on Elysium, but they could not return. Bluecher is last seen talking with Barrell and Teisel while watching Roll‎ and Tron working on their tenth attempt to build a rocket able to reach Elysium and bring MegaMan back.
