The Wily Machine from Mega Man III is the final boss of the game, fought at the end of the Wily Station. It is simply referred to as a Wily Machine in the game's credits.

Strategy[]

First phase[]

This giant Wily Machine occupies one half of the screen at all times, and its weak point is its eyes. For the first phase, its only movement is hover straight up in the sky for a bit before slamming down on the other side to try and crush Mega Man. However, if Mega Man simply goes under the Wily Machine while its hovering in place, the slam attack will always be avoided. Every time the Wily Machine lands, two missiles shoot out of the side cannons simultaneously. These missiles only move in the diagonals, and can be outsmarted quite easily.

Each phase can only be damaged by one thing and one thing only. The first phase is weak only to a charged Mega Buster shot, and takes 3 damage from it.

Second phase[]

Once the first energy gauge is depleted, the Wily Machine shuts down and is unable to move for the rest of the battle. Dr. Wily is revealed at the cockpit on the very top, and he is the new weak point. For the rest of the fight, all the boss can do is shoot out of the side cannons. The projectiles this time are balls that are launched in parabolic arcs in Mega Man's general position, and they are immune to all projectiles. Their shot timings vary throughout the battle, either going out of sync for shooting in sync.

The second phase is weak to Screw Crusher, and the trajectory is perfectly set up to hit Dr. Wily. However, the boss's projectiles can ding Screw Crusher, and given this weapon only does 1 damage, it'll take a while to eventually defeat the boss.
